How Does Sewer Jetting Work?

How does sewer jetting work?

Hot or Cold water is pumped under pressure up to 4000 PSI, via a hose and special nozzles, into the drain. The pressurized water rushes down the drain and dislodges any clogs and dirt, breaking apart any clogs and tree roots and forcing it down into the main sewer system.

The size of the drain or pipe, and the severity and location of the blockage, determine the length and size of the hose used, the type of nozzles used, the pressure needed, and the temperature of the water used.  A scope would be done on the line before the jetting is done to determine exactly where any problems are and what equipment would be best used to clear the blockage. Our pressurized water nozzles dislodge and break up any clogs and debris, flushing it down the pipes to the main line, freeing up your pipes. After the blockage is clear, we scope the pipes again to ensure that your pipes are clear and free-flowing.

When should sewer jetting be done?

To maintain a healthy sewer drainage system, jetting should be done at regular intervals. Sewer jetting is environmentally friendly, non-invasive, safe, and chemical-free.  Ultimately, regular maintenance of your sewer system can save you time, money, and frustration. Depending on the age and condition of the pipes, we recommend that a normal residential home should schedule sewer jetting every 18 to 24 months. We also advise having jetting done before moving into a new home.
