What is a Sewer Snake?
Also known as an auger, or Roto-Rooter, a sewer snake is a handy and effective method for removing minor plumbing blockages and clogs. It features a long cable with an auger head. There are different sizes of lines and heads depending on the pipe size and the clog. What causes sewer blockages?
A snake is inserted into the pipe and glides down the drain until it reaches the blockage. It is then pushed carefully and firmly, back and forth against the blockage. The technician then twists the snake’s handle to collect whatever is inside the pipe that is blocking or clogging the flow. This rotation of the snake causes the blockage to entangle in the coil on the snake. Once caught, our technician carefully lifts the sewer snake out and disposes of the debris that caused the clog.
